AI Gender Bias in Decision Making Process

ABSTRACT

This research explores the use of natural language processing (NLP) techniques and machine learning (ML) models to observe global female social influencers conversations to concepts of gender inequality applied to AI technologies. To reach this objective this research will 1) reveal underlying user's profile attributes and 2) detect the nature of digital conversations. Using a combination of analytical methods such word cloud analysis and clustering, it examines 172.041 tweets worldwide over the course of one year: 2022. From the theoretical perspective, this paper evidence that the combination of analytical methods of social opinion mining as an effective methodology to analysed biased inequalities and obtain actionable insights which might be useful for AI decision makers. From a practical point of view, the findings allow us to understand the role of female micro-influencers, ordinary individuals characterized by having a committed and active character who are challenge by discrimination and societal gender prejudices.
